Plussys: from sketch to CNC machine

Stone does not forgive a millimetre. When a kitchen countertop, window sill or stair flight goes to the CNC, the drawing and the machine have to speak the same language — otherwise expensive stone is cut wrong, and production stops while someone redraws from one program into another.

Why I built Plussys

People often tie Qtech to frost protection. FPS is one product. What I actually build are critical production systems: sales, 3D, machine prep — one flow, without copying between programs. Plussys is proof of that work, not a demo.

Plussys d.o.o. in Zagreb has been working stone since 1991; the family stonemason tradition goes back to the 1950s. The office is at Semeljačka 1, production at Zagrebačka 109 in Gornja Greda near Dugo Selo. They needed a configurator where the customer draws in millimetres, sees the material and the price per m², and admin exports ISO G-code and DXF for the CNC from the same model.

Configurator: kitchen top in mm, material and price, Grok AI geometry.

This is not a web catalogue with a gallery of slabs. It is a production system that joins the enquiry, the quote and machine prep. If the drawing and the G-code live in two worlds, the error shows up on the stone — late and expensive.

How it works

  1. Drawing — the customer draws a kitchen countertop, window sill or stairs in millimetres. No “about”: the measure goes on into production.
  2. Material — granite, marble, quartz, ceramics, each with a price per m². The choice is part of the quote, not a separate catalogue.
  3. AI geometry — Grok proposes geometry from a description or a sketch. That shortens the first drawing; millimetres still stay with the person.
  4. CAM — admin generates ISO G-code and DXF for the CNC from the same model. Sales and machine prep share one record.

The same flow covers three typical workshop products: kitchen countertops, window sills and stairs. The customer does not email a sketch for someone to redraw. Drawing, price and machine export sit on one model.

What the client gets

  • One flow: from enquiry to machine prep, without redrawing in another program
  • The customer draws themselves, in mm, and immediately sees the material and the price per square metre
  • Admin sends ISO G-code and DXF to the CNC instead of assembling them by hand
  • AI (Grok) helps turn a description or sketch into geometry — a start, not a substitute for checking the measure

Technology

Plussys is a web app with a React interface. Configurator, 3D view and CAM export live in the same flow. AI comes via Grok. No invented numbers: the system is in production for a real stonemason workshop in Zagreb and Gornja Greda.
